Well, kinda. We didn’t replace our old website with an entirely different one. But we’ve significantly changed the look and feel – both the colour scheme and the typography – as well as the overall tone in order to match our message.
“And what is your message?” – you might ask
We have identified something very important that perhaps was missing from our previous web presence: that we offer a unique solution for businesses. Whether you are a business owner in need of a website, somebody in charge of building or managing the website for the company where you work or a designer looking for a great platform to create websites for your own clients, we know that YWD is the best option out there.
So following Paul’s advice we’re making the claim that we are the website solution for businesses. And to prove that, we’ll be featuring success stories from our clients – both businesses and designers. That will be presented in the form of case studies such as this one from WedLuxe or this one from SciCan (more to come soon) as well as testimonials from hundreds of clients.
The redesign process
Like in all design/redesign projects we engage on, we listened to the stakeholders. We created wireframes and came up with visual approaches. Now, since it's so easy to experiment in YWD Designer, I must confess that for many things we bypassed Photoshop entirely. But we laser-focused on our specific target audience, and we’re using social media to close the loop.
We are 100% sure that we have the friendliest and most powerful CMS (Content Management System) out there – hey, we developed it! – so it’s trivial for us to make changes to our website as much as we want. This way we can keep our content fresh and relevant.
And the best thing is that with the YWD platform we can track how well the website is doing – through Google Analytics reports, keeping an eye on the landing pages that generate for submissions, etc. – so we can make adjustments along the way. Ultimately, we want people to like what we offer and feel compelled to purchase it and our website is a key part of that. After all, we’re a business too.
