The bottom line is that there's a growing chance your customers will be using a smartphone (Android, iPhone and yes, even a BlackBerry) to access your website. So it needs to be a pleasant and useful exprience for them. Simply serving the same website that's displayed on computers won't cut anymore: all the text will appear tiny, people will have to zoom in/out with their fingers all the time, etc. Not to mention that sometimes all they want to do is find out your phone number so they can call you!
